The iHouse (Not an Apple product)

Matt 08 May 2009 | : Architecture

Clayton Homes has introduced the iHouse, a customizable pre-built house. Thanks to things like solar panels, thick walls and a rainwater catching system, the iHouse only costs about $1/day to cover all it’s electricity needs. There’s a one or two bedroom version of the home which can cost between $75,000 to $140,000 depending on options and shipping/building of the units. All the materials can be shipped in two large trucks and the house takes a few days to assemble.

It’s a bit pricy at $40 for a 4GB stick but it will definitely turn heads at the office. There are currently two version, this and one resembling the E-Mu SP-1200. Pre-order now and they will ship on June 12th.

The website http://www.sugarstacks.com/ will let you know through pictures that show the snack along with sugar cubes symbolizing the amount of sugar in that snack. The results are a bit surprising. One can of soda for example which I thought would only have two or three sugar cubes worth of sugar turns out to have nine and a half cubes worth of sugar. a Cinnabun roll has fourteen!
