EA Announces iPhone SimCity

Today EA Mobile announced nine titles in development for the iPhone and iPod touch includes YAHTZEE Adventures, EA Mini Golf, Lemonade Tycoon™, Mahjong, MONOPOLY: Here & Now The World Edition, SimCity, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09, Need for Speed™ Undercover, and The Sims™ 3.
Although I’m sure the graphics of SimCity iPhone will be better than Sim City 2000, I can’t help but pray that the gameplay is similar to that game. No need to slow down the gameplay with fancy graphics and menus.
I have no hope. EA showed with their DS versions that they have no clue of what to do with this franchise. I want a descent city simulator in the style of SC 2000. I loved it and had it on every platform, from DOS to windows, OS/2 and even the PSX. I DON’T want a mix of Sims and Sim City – but that’s exactly what we will get.
And the next version of Sim City for iPhone will include even more majors and citizens to talk to, more stuff which let you walk through your town and you will even be able to import your Spore mini creatures to live in the marina. City management will be given to some wizards who do everything for you. Sigh.
