Black Friday 2008

Although this will be a rather weak Black Friday compared to those in the past, there are still some deals to be found. • Circuit City / 260 DVDs and CDs / $2.99 – $3.99 each

Best Buy Black Friday Ad Not Impressive

Posted on 14 Nov 2008 | Tagged as: Deals | 141 views

Best Buy Black Friday Ad

The Best Buy black friday (day after Thanksgiving) sales ad has hit the internet and it’s not looking too impresive this year. In the past Best Buy has provided some of the best doorbuster deals of all the major retailers but with the financial market in ruins, and people looking for deals every which way, maybe Best Buy couldn’t afford to let things go at ridiculous prices. Or maybe people are just sick and tired camping out in front of a store for two days in the freezing cold in order to try and save $300 on a new TV.

Apple iTunes Store Bargain Bin Movies

Apple iTunes Store Bargain Bin Movies

I don’t enjoy rebuying my movie collection every time a new format comes out, first VHS, then DVD and now digital. The thing I like least about buying digital is that it’s stuck in a format that I can’t physically touch. I’m glad Apple realized we don’t want to pay a lot for digital movies because they started an iTunes store movie bargain bin. A bunch of movies will be released each week for only $5. With movies like Terminator 2 on the list, the movies are pretty good too. Not sure yet if by limited time they mean the movies or the bargain bin but we should find out next week.

Posted on 06 Nov 2008 | Tagged as: Deals, Technology | 145 views

Windows 3.x

As of November 1st, 2008, Microsoft has stopped issuing licenses for Windows 3.x which debuted in May, 1990. The 18 year old operating system carried Microsoft through the early 90’s up until Windows 95 came out in August, 1995. Windows 3.x included a significantly revamped user interface as well as many technical improvements over Windows previous OS. In order to install Windows 3.x, you needed a hard drive with a whopping 6-7 MB of free space.

Bejeweled 2 App Store Price Now $2.99

Posted on 02 Nov 2008 | Tagged as: Apple, Deals | 116 views

iPod Touch $2.99

For those looking for a cheap way to fill up your iPhone or iPod touch with some killer apps, Bejeweled 2 is on sale for $2.99. It’s possible it’s on sale now to sell a bunch of copies before they release Bejeweled Twist in the App Store. Anyway I dont care, i’ll bite and pay the $3, down from $7 earlier last month. Although the App Store version is a bit bare bones and won’t even let you save your high scores it’s still great for some fast addictive arcade fun.

Blu-ray Sale At Amazon.com

Posted on 24 Sep 2008 | Tagged as: Deals | 130 views

This is the first Blu-ray Disc sale I’ve seen in a while. The last time I remember Blu-ray’s at prices like this was last year during the Blu-ray/HD-DVD wars.. when HD-DVD was still around. The 95 Blu-rays on sale aren’t all trash either. Check out the sale at Amazon.

MotionX Poker iPod Touch Review

Posted on 20 Sep 2008 | Tagged as: Deals, Technology | 213 views

I’m a sucker for a good addictive game so when I heard that MotionX Poker recently dropped in price from $4.99 to $.99, I had to check it out. The game is really well made. Great graphics, unlockable content and addictive gameplay. The game plays similar to Yahtzee. The neatest feature about this game is also its greatest enemy. To roll the dice you actually shake your iPod Touch/iPhone. While it’s fun to shake at first, it loses its joy after a while and I wish there was an alternative ‘roll’ button. The sound and music in the game is top notch. Overall it’s well, well worth the one dollar and I’ve never been able to buy anything this much fun at the dollar store.

MotionX also released a free dice application that’s not really game but just a dice rolling simulation that will give you an idea of how MotionX Poker will play.

eBay Live.com Cashback Saves You Money

Posted on 14 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: Deals | 5,176 views

Live.com eBay Cashback

There’s an easy way to get cash back on everyday items you purchase on eBay. I’ve already got back over $100 (some of it still pending) by signing up for Live.com cashback. It’s pretty simple and here’s what you do:

  • Go to http://live.com/cashback and register an email with them
  • Do any live search on http://live.com and add EBay to the item you looking for (like: “iPod eBay”)
  • Click on the link in the header that says “Live Search cashback” on the search results page
  • Once you choose what you want on eBay, but prior to committing to buy (to buy, not to pay) make sure the 25% cash back is being offered there, otherwise you won’t get it! Only Buy It Now auctions are eligable for cashback
  • You will receive a message after you pay for you item that you have new cashback. Click that link and register it to your newly created Live.com account

It works! The cashback ranges from 15% – 30% and is currently at 25% which means that if you buy an iPod for $200, $50 will be put in your Live.com account. After 60 days of a pending status the money will be yours to withdrawal from your Live.com account.
