I learned something new today when I was trying to add up some numbers at work. Not in the mood to open up a new application, I did a Google search for an online calculator. To my surprise I discovered that all I have to do is simply type in the calculation right into Google and it will tell me the answer as I type it. I then clicked on the Google Calculator link and discovered that you can do some big time equations (that I don’t exactly understand) in Google as well.

It’s of the popular game Bejeweled 2. You’ll notice the bottom has a blank area that looks like a button. That’s the area where you Slide to Unlock once you turn on the system.

To install this wallpaper, follow these simple steps:

Download the wallpaper by right clicking it and clicking “save as” or by just dragging it to your desktop

With your iPhone or iPod touch connected, launch iTunes and click on the Photos tab and click “Sync photos from”

From the pop-up menu choose the folder/destination in which you have placed the pictures and sync

On your iPhone or iPod touch. Go to the photos button and click the album where your wallpaper is located

Yesterday at a press conference, Google announced a new tool called Buzz. Now Google wouldn’t be the Google Gods they are if they weren’t continuing to come out with new and better ways to communicate and socialize online. Google Buzz is a cross between Facebook, Twitter and Email. It lets you share images, videos and stories with your friends or with the whole world and it works in with Gmail which is great if you already use a Gmail account as our primary email because you will already have all the people you communicate with built-in. Instead of just emailing a story to friends with annoying attachments and links to videos and stories, why not just send them the pictures, videos, stories and your thoughts right in Buzz? It currently has built-in Picasa, Flickr, Google Reader, and Twitter integration. Google also rolled out a phone app that works with Buzz.

Features include:

No setup needed: Automatically follow the people you email and chat with the most in Gmail.

Share publicly or privately: Publish your ideas to the world or just to your closest friends.

Inbox integration: Comments get sent right to your inbox so it’s easy to keep the conversation going.

Photo friendly: See thumbnails with each post, and browse full-screen photos from popular sites.

Connect sites you already use: Import your stuff from Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, and Google Reader

See updates in real time: New posts and comments pop in as they happen. No refresh required.

Just the good stuff: Buzz recommends interesting posts and weeds out ones you’re likely to skip.

Mystery Science Theater 3000, the great show once on Comedy Central and then on SciFi Channel before being canceled off the air about 10 years ago can now be found on Hulu. This show is about a human and two robots stuck on an evil ship forced to watch horrible movies. The three of them tear the movie apart making fun of everything from the actors to the low budget props to the music to the..well.. they knock the whole movie. It’s a formula that actually works and it’s one of my favorite shows of all time. There are currently only 5 one and a half hour episodes available.

Ever wonder how much sugar you’re really eating or drinking when you’re enjoying your favorite tasty treat? The website http://www.sugarstacks.com/ will let you know through pictures that show the snack along with sugar cubes symbolizing the amount of sugar in that snack. The results are a bit surprising. One can of soda for example which I thought would only have two or three sugar cubes worth of sugar turns out to have nine and a half cubes worth of sugar. a Cinnabun roll has fourteen!

Check out everything here.

In case you got bored with CubeECraft Papercraft Toys and are interested in something new, you may want to check out Marshall Alexander’s website which offers diagrams you can print out, cut out and have fun with. The one-piece papertoys consist of a single flat piece of paper, which by folding is transformed into a 3-dimensional model. There’s some really neat stuff on the site including all kinds of monster characters, robots, insects, fish, even 1970’s video game consoles.

With more and more people transitioning from older 4:3 televisions to newer LCD and Plasma 16:9 TVs, you knew it was only so long before YouTube would make the transition also. Earlier this week (as an early holiday present) YouTube went from a standard 4:3 screen ratio to a 16:9 screen ratio, making it too widescreen. What that means is that all the videos you’ve uploaded or seen in the past will have the black bars on the left and right side of the video. From here on out though more and more people will be shot and uploaded in HD widescreen making the black bars more and more uncommon over time.

There are currently about 35 themes to choose from and I’m sure Google will add more in the future. Some of the themes are even customized to you depending on your location. To choose a theme, go to Gmail and click a thumbnail on the Themes tab of your Settings page.
